As someone who has lived in Manhattan (NYC) for 6 years, I ask you:

Please do not test this theory of yours out, for your own safety! :D

A Norwegian with skis on a train to Coney Island will be robbed of his skis and possibly beaten up.

Back in 1968 or '69, I won a twenty dollar bet by taking the subway to Harlem about 10 o'clock at night, and walking to the next station over. I was a little too blond to be doing that, but I got away with it. God looks after drunkards and fools....when he's in the mood. :)

I think you have to say it four times, and once with an interpretive line-dance.

I looked too far back, i.e. at Raggi's 1st post.

Of course not, as long as they don't overstate the warnings for political effect and advantage.

I'll agree wholeheartedly with that. And I don't think it was the reason for the warnings this time.

Nor do I, but it might be prudent to wait for confirmation from Wikileaks ;)

On the subway, my biggest concern was not to hit one of those big black guys with my skis or backpack by accident :) It wen OK, "take care man", they said when I got of.

Yes, the whole thread is based on a misunderstanding.
I still think we give those terrorists a little too much attention, what they want probably.

    Lot's of interesting reading though.
And some insults here and there.

When I asked Masrapido to take a break, I hadn't read all the posts from Mark.
Mark is of course a human, maybe even a friendly one to some or sometimes, but he should install some kind of filter on his keyboard, this can possibly be downloaded from Parental Control or Washington Wifes against cursing or something like that.

Since this is a completely derailed, "anything goes" thread, I'll speak to this one too. :)

Same experiences here. When I first got to Manhattan, all wide eyed and stuff, I went out drinking a lot. After I got tired, I'd take the train home, as would my friends, drunk and practically passing out. They had cleaned up the subways a lot by this time (late 1990's).

One of my friends lived off the F-Train, I think it was in Brooklyn. Well, his sorry, drunk *ss fell asleep on the train. Next thing he knew, "Last stop!" He rode the F train all the way to Coney Island at 3AM. He's a tall, blonde, blue eyed guy with a last name of Zimmerman. Got lucky too. Wasn't even robbed while he was sleeping.

How different you are in the US. Getting lucky usually means getting laid in Australia and other parts of the world.

It means the same here sometimes too.

You can also say you "got lucky" if, in general, something goes your way. It isn't usually sexual here, but it can be.

I did have a business associate who was with me in Australia once. She said she "rooted" for the New England Patriots US football team. The guys nearly passed out laughing! They said, "they whole team?!?" Of course, she said, "yes, the whole team" :D

So, now it is a referendum on Mark. Rag, you are a slippery one - always so nice on the surface, but ready to ratchet up the spite for conservative thought, knock America (even if implied, there is an undertone, a constant degredation of America, Israel, anything not of your Utopian moonbat ideals.
"A filter on my keyboard"....Well, here they are - the big offenders:
    Post 50, "Damn"
    Post 53, "Ninny"
    Post 89, "Damned fool"
    Post97, "F'r"
    Post134, " 'tards"
    Post 204, "Don't give a ****"
    Post240, "___________, braintrust, idiot"
    Post 435, F'ing

Just like your type to think first about sensorship and not first that there may be a valid differing viewpoint in a heated discussion, yet it is perfectly valid, in your viewpoint to defame and belittle other cultures as long as they are not presently "cool" to left leaners and Europeans. It's okay for my opponents to swear, though. Okay, I admit that the gay reference was a bit too much. Giving notice that I am doing it for you and your percieved threat from Washington wives against cursing, I'll wait a bit, then edit to strike "__________" and put a more PC term in the original post.
