Honey, I only lost one single point. And you called me a ******* too. Took me to 169 points. Then I got a couple of well wishing messages from a number of people enjoying our exchange, so I am now at 189. I'll spare you of compliments they used refering to you.

(not that I find points of any importance)

Thanks granny. You are making me more popular. We agree that you did not mean to achieve that, but hey. Life is a misterious thing...

Don't lie. It is unbecoming. I give you negative points every chance I get but, so far, that's been once ever. It always says "spread som rep around first" and I haven't...Don't you have a rock to crawl under?

Mark, I am just curious. Is Alaska too cold for snakes?

Never mind. I googled the answer. Rare sightings of garter snakes in the southern region near B.C. None verified to my knowledge.

Slimy salamanders are a different story. Do you have freshwater crayfish?

    Never mind. I'll google it.

    I found Crusty, here: http://iz.carnegiemnh.org/crayfish/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=106

Just because they weren't found before doesn't mean they aren't native.
How do you prove a negative?

How could these little little critters be a threat to Alaskan aquaculture unless they eat all the salmon eggs?

Never mind. I guess I answered my own question. Thanks again for all the help.

No, you lost three, because I hit the reload button and checked immediately after giving them to you. And you're lucky all I did was call you a *******.

If someone wants to suck up to you and give you points, that's their business; my only reason for giving the negative feedback was to prove that it wasn't me who did it anonymously -- because the system won't let me give it twice in a row without spreading it around to a lot of other people first.

I believe when you're a noob, your feedback doesn't do any harm or good. It shows up as grayed, instead of green or red.

I'm not that sure on the details myself. But the amount of points you can give depends on some sort of rating system. Whether they measure total posts, your own reputation or the amount of feedback you've given, I don't know. But when I first started here, my feedback didn't seem to affect anyone's rep. I've gradually worked my way up until I give 6 points positive rep, and 3 points negative rep.

I know there are long-time members who can hand out massive amounts of feedback. But occasionally I'll get feedback from a new member. The little box will be gray instead of green or red, and my point count won't change.

Rep doesn't really matter, unless you get down to negative numbers. I believe that at some point your posting privileges are restricted. Again, I'm not sure of the details. Come to think of it, there's probably an explanatory sticky somewhere, if I went looking for it... it's never been important enough for me to bother.

If you click on the FAQ in the top left corner and scroll down to the bottom item, there is a "How does the User Reputation System Work?"

tks. I guess I can spend that much time and energy...:)

OK, looks like the answer is a combination of "all of the above": time on the forum; number of posts; reputation.

I can see somebody not liking that I don't sugar-coat. I can see somebody hitting you either way (mostly positively, obviously). Unless Masalai or another of Mastupido's intimate male companions are hanging out, I can't imagine anyone repping that diatribe positively.
    Speaking of liars:
"all you need do is set up other nics and its point city."
"...(I) still don't know how it works."
He seems pretty well versed to me.
I get a lot of activity on my rep - now I know how because I wouldn't think many people even look at the argument threads.

This thread is full of very simplistic Black/White world perspectives, and alot of media popularisation. When will people understand that Islam does NOT equal terrorism? there is about 1,2 million muslims in the world, and you think all are women hating suecide bombers? The militant talibans are a small minority.

One of many examples i read in this... many many more, of how someone things eruope is becoming a muslim "nation" (absurd to even think of europe as a single nation in that sense), others about how america being the saviour of the world against all kinds of problem.

for the record, of what i've read, i'm with troy on this one.
