engine room optimization

    hi everyone!! :)

    Anyone of you have a project or thesis regarding the optimization
    of the engine room volume of a ro-ro ship??

    Not knowing your objectives it might be hard to get a satisfying reply from our NA´s in the commercial field.
    Being a bit more specific about your goal will help.

    About 30 years ago one simple answer was: put a "Pielstick" in.
    Due to the low profile of the "SEMT Pielstick" engines they were the first choice for many ferries.
    I yet have to meet one Chief loving them though.......

    create a sort of pareto front between fuel cosuption and engine room volume..
