Michael, you are a damn lobbyist, payed by a beer industrial complex and by NBA. :p
But you shall not win. Long life to wine, possibly red one! ;)

Talking about Croatian wines, I warmly recommend this reading: http://www.thewinegang.com/reports/detailed/editorial/2011/8

I didn't see the white wine Vrbnička žlahtina mentioned ?

Vrbnick is a tiny keyhole shaped port on the east coast of Krk. The harbour is dominated by thousands of bottles ready to be filled by the local vineyards. The wine is very good and the harbour is one of the most beautiful.

They mentioned wine from Pag. Didnt know anything could grow on the island..Pag looks like a giant mountain of molten ice cream..not a piece of vegetation . Pag is constantly burnt by the sun and blasted by the bora. Perhaps there are hidden valleys in the interior.

Pag is renown for it's grapes and white wines. The soil contains a lots of limestone, and it turns out that the limestone gives grapes with very rich bouquet and higher acidity - right what is necessary for a great white wine. Check this excellent article about the importance of limestone in viticulture: http://tablascreek.typepad.com/tablas/2010/05/why-limestone-matters-for-viticulture.html

Limestone-rich soil, which is whitish in color, together with very favorable climate, is also a reason why certain regions of peninsula of Istra (terre bianche, bijela Istra) gives top-class Malvazija white wines.

Other regions of Istra have pronounced red soil becaus of high level of ferric oxides, and it turns out that it is ideal for growing red-wine grapes. Istrian reds are little known, but absolutely fabulous. May I recommend to try a good Refosk or Teran red wine from Istria, if you ever had a chance. ;)

    Cheers

Hmm , Pag wine. Only produce I know from Pag is Cheese and Salt.

    Ill have to look harder.

The cheese is distinctive because the climate is so extreme that sheep must each aromatic plants like Sage.

The soil on the Velebit canal side of Pag is poisoned by salt blown into the air by the bora.

The town of Pag, south of the bridge, is a huge salt pan. The waterfront is lined with old Salt warehouses. At one time salt was very valuable.
