Ya, quite incredible, and "bucking" the laws of science while doing it, haha!

They are not quite pirates because there's only half a buck an ear.

They're trying; they at least have hart.

Clearly on their way to a stag party.

Come on guys, that was fawny.

Now look what you made me doe.

    OK, I'll stop now.

Two Novembers ago, I camped and fished on a large island in northern Minnesota. Weather was not typical; one day was 60F, one night was 25Fand the lake made some ice, but my nets were full. I left the entrails on the shore for seabirds, and the next morning, only a single drop of blood was left. This the work of wolves. I had company, or I was. Each night the next two, full nets; barely a scale left. On the night before I left; I heard them howling finally to the east; a large pack. I was quite surprised there were so many and held my hatchet under my pillow. I was 16 miles in and the only human for miles for sure. Noone would have heard me scream, but oddly I had cell service. The morning of my departure, a large, beautiful whitetail buck swam off the island. He had heard them, too.

ps-a no hunting area; packing guns is frowned upon by the rangers

But carrying protection is perfectly reasonable.

Bearspray might be better than a hatchet, for protection.
