Hi,

I have been using FreeShip with Michlet, but currently, I am not sure about FreeShip's status or development.

I remembered DELFTship and that somebody mentioned years ago that it works well with Michlet. However, I fail to find any concrete and recent information about this other than an old Michlet manual referring to DELFTship v.5 (current version is 13).

Is anybody still using these two software together or is there perhaps a better path?

I am looking to optimize hull lines with Godzilla, and import to DELFTship for hydrostatics.

Michlet gives only good results for very narrow boats, like a kayak, rowing shell or catamaran.
For normal boats there are regression methods that are better suited: Resistance prediction with UliTank https://www.remmlinger.com/UliTank.html
Good luck
Uli

Hi Uli,
Thanks for your reply.
I am pretty aware of the limitations of the thin ship theory. I am also aware of the regression methods and use them frequently.

What I need to understand is whether new versions of DELFTship continue supporting the Michlet workflow or not.

Thanks for introducing the UliTank.

Ben
