Deck fixing question

I wouldn't use epoxy putty,it can be too stodgy.An epoxy adhesive is more than good enough and I wouldn't get too concerned about leaving the screws in,but having said that I would glass over the entire deck.With polyester and at least a couple of plies of 600gsm mat,which I would carry up the topsides 100mm or so,In an ideal world I would attach the underside of the deck in the same way but I do appreciate that with a complete boat there may be access problems.If my reading of the thread is correct there can't be much camber to the decks or you wouldn't be able to bend 18mm ply to it.

If you do a permanent bond; the screws don’t help and only provide an avenue for water ingress.

You cannot really have a deck in bedding compound and make it waterproof.

hull to deck joints need to be made waterproof as well

Consider a deck with a flexible or removable bond. It moves and if glassed to the sides of the hull; those glass seams flex.

You have to decide wet bilge or dry bilge. That simple.

It'll be well tabbed to the side of the hull and then scuppers cut in. It'll have 5/6mm glass over the deck, I guess if I'm removing the screws I can save a bit by not having to buy stainless.

No camber. Widest beam is 2.5m and I've glassed in the beam shelf with a slight fall back aft and the scuppers will be in the transom and rear 1/3d of the hull. No room under the deck to glass the underside after the deck goes on. The ply is going in side ways so no longitudinal joins, they all land on an 80mm wide beam.

I don't think there can be any water ingress if the deck is fiberglassed over.
