Thanks for ideas guys...maybe a sheet of aluminum bent up nicely on a brake with 2" sides and handles on 2 sides, lined with some tiles or brick.

I'd have to get precise measurements, ultimately it would fit it in my kamado.Would need to cut a notched steel round 2" high ring to fit into the grill bars and the dutch oven to fit in so it won't slide around..

If I cook ashore I risk seeing this, generally not too bad but in August and later they get particularly insistent about food.
And if there's cubs around it's a real problem

If you're out on your boat, that won't be a problem as I doubt they'll swim 1/2 mile to get some food...as a bear once did to a small island on which I was smoking salmon.

bear paw is a famous delicacy. TRUE!
    But so is seagull gumbo.
tastes similar to like halfway in between bald eagle gumbo and snowy owl gumbo! LOL :D

I've noticed that the silly fad of overpriced emu, kangaroo and crocodile meat dishes in our more expensive eateries is finally coming to an end.

While art nouveau cuisine offers some interesting concepts, I couldn't help but laugh (causing insult), when a fellow diner was presented with a large plate upon which sat a small cube of emu meat with about a tablespoon of kidney beans in a vinaigrette.

Years ago, an idiot I worked with told me about being in a Mexican restaurant, and saying to the waiter "I'll have what that guy is having." It was delicious, and at the end of the meal he asked what it was. The waiter laughed, and pointed to an iguana outside the window -- whereupon the idiot promptly puked his dinner back up.

A reaction which makes no sense to me at all....
