    Dear All,
    Greetings and good day

    I need a small help,
I want to design & build a sail wooden boat, a dream 75-85 ft.
I need support from designers both out/in boat.

    The boat is:
    · Lightweight
    . Wood & epoxy
    · Unsinkable if possible (will it be if the hull was a 2-3” thick sold wood or by structure in the lower hull part)
    · Modern classic or modern
    · Single or double mast
    · Low maintenance & long lasting(strong hull)
    · Can be solo sailed if needed

To use the boat as home in hot climate and maybe charter if I have to.
I will use this boat in shallow waters, travel long distance and should be very comfy even when anchoring

    Please contact me
    Many thanks,
    Ayman

You should start by browsing the web and reading what makes a good live aboard sailboat. Many of the traits you mention are discussed, ie short handed, shallow water, maintenance ... many threads also give an idea of cost - 75-85 foot is a pretty big boat, chartering often requires special licensing and built to certifications, do you have around half a million bucks to build it? What about the time, if you use traditional one off methods, everyone here will tell you to expect 5+ years of your time. Once you have identified these issues you can find your ideal boat ... most cruisers are happy with 45-50' (catamarans) but a lot of others are happy with much smaller.

    Thank you very much

I know about the cost. I am trying to minimize it to fit my budget. I own a carpentry shop and I have calculated building time to be 3 months and another 3 painting, and 6 months for fitting and the rest (teak here is 700 USD per cubic meter, mahogany is 800USD/QM)

There are no issues here for license in our area. And I had in mind the cost will not go to 250k USD with professional building quality for the hull but; used mast / eng, / AC and others but like new.

I was thinking of a CAT for more than a year. But I conclude that mono is better and mainly because of the noises of a CAT hitting waves, are very bad.

I am also planning to bring in a boat builder at the start of construction to supervise my good carpenters who knows how to build boats in the old methods.

Yes I have more than 10.
I know James Wharram design and I like it very much (although his boats are between CAT & CANOY )and I had in mind Schionning design but the price was sky high and yet I removed the idea of CAT but still inside of me I like Wharram boat a lot.

I need a design that will rock so that when I make my boat and people around me see it they will ask me to build for them, with wharram design people will not say WOW.
I got a 65ft design but I don’t want it because too small. In my mind is something like these:

lol, my dad worked for Aramco for awhile. He was a diplomat first and then went into consulting. Best shawarma ever in Alkhobar!! I also plan to open a shop building yachts, looking for a good place to do that. I want to do it in Croatia but the expense may be too great.

    That is pretty wood!!!!!

Also Croatia has a trade agreement with USA and so do Bahrain.
Maybe we need to discus this over the phone later on.

A problem here with this business is low market due to lack of Mariana services starting with marinas! Unlike Dubai, I remember an Italian who hade a shop for classic 10m motor boats and he was copying like "Ford" and shipping to Italy.
Perhaps you pass me your mobile and ill give you a call in few days
