CE Certification?

    If the boat is self or home built it does not have to comply with the rcd unless it is placed on the market within 5 years of build. After that you can sell it regardless.
    However if its built in the US & then imported into the EU it would have to comply even if self built.
    No problem getting it insured, i have never heard of an insurer asking if a boat is CE marlked.
    As for Brass seacocks, there has been much in the British yachting press about these, seems some of the big european manufacturers use them as a matter of course, profit being the motivation.
    Two boats in our club less than 10 years old have had seacock failures this year.
    Kind of makes the Rcd look like a load of useless bollocks.
