This was a rather strange catamaran I ran across a few years ago near Annapolis MD.

But it actually had a number of clever ideas. I took a bunch of photos that I should probably post on the forum in another subject thread.

This one was in the Gallery - thought it should be listed here for continuity ..

I think my boat picture trumps that one for weird.

It might be me, but this boat looks positively normal - maybe you need to explain it to a simple mind :(

Do you see a reason for that halfway keel and almost midship rudder? If so please explain the benefits ;)

    Cheers,

Oh sure, there are lots of 'bad design' hulls around - I thought the thread was for 'weird'.

'bad design' covers just about every thread in the whole forum :D

My guess would be this boat was initially shorter, end stern later extended. A deckhouse cabin built over original cockpit. Mowing a rudder considered unnecessary.

Seems to have ‘‘a lot ’’ of leeward resistance for the force on the mizzen.. how would weather helm be . . :D

    Cheers,
    Angel

    PS

Watson, this weird thread is on the Boat Design part of the forum, so lets talk some weird design too (or tolerate it) ;)
