This showed up in our local waters recently, drifted from the West Coast unmanned!
There’s damage where the amas join the hull, hard to imagine that without even being under sail.
Hope to get a closer look at the cracks and construction details soon, it certainly looks solid!

She entered the 1968 OSTAR singlehanded transatlantic race, but I think she retired for the same reason, re structural failure in way of the tubes connecting the amas to the main hull.

I saw that, the owner must be trying to cover up the facts!
The boat was found and salvaged by someone I know, and had clearly been adrift for some time.
The price drops every day, $29,000 now!

As for the Water World tri, it was about 99% Hollywood, photoshop and clever editing made it fast and hi tech!

Did you go look at the boat? It kind of sounded like a Craigslist scam, "I'm not in the area but if you send $5000 to hold it that will help pay for my child's chemo treatments and food for the orphanage I run in the barrios of Manilla which is also a home for wayward girls...."

They had two boats, the above one for closeups and rigged with props, which could sail, but not as well as the one below, Loe Real, for far away shots which could sail 30 knots, or 56km/h, or 35 mph. All at the same time even.

The boat is parked at the public pier, and is so wide it makes access to my slip dicey, so yes, I’ve seen it.
Local pier talk is that it’s an insurance scam gone wrong, the boat was supposed to stay lost a lot longer!

Cripes, it's down to $15,000 now. That's got to be interesting as a live aboard compared to renting or buying a house...?
