Epoxy paints generally have low UV resistance and are a bad choice. A urethane or polyurethane enamel is more durable. Regular automotive paint works well and gives you any color, including metallics.

What Gonzo said, use epoxy primer and urethane topcoat, a good automobile paint is as good as a good marine paint, they are the same chemistry, almost unlimted color choices and you buy it locally mixed for you while you wait. You don't want to use any of the urethane paints below the waterline though if the boat is going to spend extended time in the water.
