born as I.O.R. wants to became an IMS

    there are lots of good ior boats that to became competitive made modifications of rigs, keel etc..
    my question is if may be usefull make modifications to the hull shape , I mean , after laser scanning the boat design new ims bow and stern , then cutting away those part and replacing with new made in sandwich over a mold.
    it seems to me that at america's cup happened that they changed the shape of the bow cutting and replacing it .
    what's your opinion ?
