The Marketplace Forums can be useful for members who know one another well from forum discussions and offline communications and wish to post boatbuilding tools, drafting tools, molds and tooling, and other professional equipment for sale or trade. However, caution and good judgement should always be used. Especially when considering any business with anyone not already well known to you and trusted, due diligence must be used to confirm details and identity and be sure the transaction is safe before any money or property changes hands. Always use good judgement and perform due dilligence and follow these guidelines.

Having just got through a conversation with Allstate who asked me for the name of the manufacturer and model of boat, and having been turned down because my custom designed trawler isn't in their "list", I thought I'd look through this and other online resources. I did a search of all posts and the word "insurance" appears in 907 of them and looking through a few dozen I gave up on that. Then I tried searching for the term just in the Title, that returned a few threads that were not very informative.

So here we are, my sum total of knowledge on the topic so far:

One poster said that "Panteneous" had covered them, no details. I'm guessing that actually meant http://www.pantaenius.us - I'll be calling them to see what they can do and will post the results of the conversation. BTW I've heard in the past that they are the best for cruiser's insurance, including medical, especially outside the USA.

    That's it!

Does anyone know of an insurer in the USA who could help? I'm personally looking for liability, theft and damage insurance.

    Thanks,

    Ray
