Angélique aka Angel (only by name)

Just saw the ad for one of the Fairey Huntsman 28's from the bad guys in ‘‘From Russia With Love’’, now 2 x 320 HP.

    _From_Russia_With_Love_Boat_Chase_Fairey_Huntsman_28_1_.JPG _From_Russia_With_Love_Boat_Chase_Fairey_Huntsman_28_2_.JPG _From_Russia_With_Love_Boat_Chase_Fairey_Huntsman_28_3_.jpg

Took some screen shots (first two) from the movie, boat survived remarkably well . . . :D

Here's the Boat Chase part (after the ad) from that movie... James is in a Fairey Huntress...

the 28's are seen from 2:59 till 6:17

    Cheers,
    Angel

An old time classic and I don't think it's up yet.

"The Old Man and The Sea" with Spencer Tracy

" Fish, I love you and respect you very much. But I will kill you dead before this day ends.

A very beautiful and elegant (but slightly too arty) video with a few scenes with ships is "The Feast of Trimalchio" Parts I, II, and III which is being shown here in my town now:

It's a shame they can't do wakes very well, so they are a bit like Naval Architects who forget how to do maths :p

These guys can calculate the wake very well in this stunning video of transom-stern flows:

All that work, on so many processors, but last I heard they were still using the ITTC 1957 line to estimate skin-friction.

    Sailing Movie

For me, I like the sailing movies. "Wind" is my favorite. It is a 1984 film staring the same young lady that stared in “Dirty Dancing” with Patrick Swazy.

I was sharing this movie with a lady friend whom was relative new to sailing, only about 2 years of living on her boat. We set up a laptop computer to watch the DVD in the cockpit of her boat. We both were enjoying the movie, and the fresh breeze that was blowing. As we were watching the race scenes, I noticed how extremely intense the action was. The perspective of the camera seemed to be much more "in the action" than I had experienced before. My friend was enthusiastically enjoying and thoroughly engrossed in the action of the race. It so happened that the wind had picked up at the appropriate time and we had real life 3D special effects added to our movie experience. The boat was rocking and bouncing which fit exactly with the movie scenes.

I encourage you to watch “Wind” and if possible on your boat.
