i didnt realize its was 11th myself.

Indeed why violence is the first choice in resolving differences and disagreements is beyond me ... May all the people who died rest in peace and may their family's heal from this and any other Violante all over the world.

Do you understand the difference between 'wanting to build a mosque,' and saying 'the people who own the property have the legal right to build one there'?

The truth is that it won't even be visible from Ground Zero. And it isn't a mosque they want to build anyway. It's a community center with an auditorium, theater, performing arts center, fitness center, swimming pool, basketball court, childcare area, bookstore, culinary school, art studio, food court, September 11 memorial -- and a prayer room.

You probably don't realize there are already two mosques closer to Ground Zero, and no one is complaining. The Trade Towers themselves had several Muslim prayer rooms in them, because people from all over the world worked there--and in fact, Muslims died on 9/11 right along with Christians and Jews.

The people whipping up all the hysteria should be ashamed of themselves, in my opinion. They're trying to make it sound like the entire religion of Islam is responsible for 9/11--all 1 1/2 billion Muslims.

The people wanting to build the center are Sufi Muslims, not Wahhabi Sunni fanatics like Al Queda. Trying to equate the two makes about as much sense as accusing William Penn and the Quakers who founded Pennsylvania of being Crusaders, because they're Christians.

As a matter of fact, Sunni religious fanatics set off a bomb in a Sufi mosque in Pakistan a couple of months ago, killing and injuring over two hundred people. They don't like the Sufis because they're peaceful and anti-violence.

Personally I think the center is a bad idea--but mostly because it gives agitators and hate mongers another excuse to peddle their hatred, fear and paranoia to their fellow Americans, rather than because there's anything wrong with the project itself.

yipster, there's no such thing as an atheist.

    Every one believes in something.

some 11 years ago i decided to have long read, didnt want to be in a certain religion because i was born in it.
I found all religions basically preach the same thing, the fundamentals are the same, equality, treat other with respect, understanding, compassion etc...

Just being a decent person and not following a particular faith is religion in itself.
