Monday, bloody Monday and Europe, Africa and the America's still sleep... WTFN?

    Hi Silver,
What about anchoring up a creek somewhere? is it secure from the risk of petty theft B&E etc?

Slowly getting ready, Need to buy tankage (about $500?) and fuel about 7 to 800 litres and a propeller $??? and the lowering of the berths... I am guessing around Xmas? but too many other considerations to be more definite... I would like to go in a coupla-weeks but that is not realistic - unless I win lotto  ...

Today is absolutely glorious, a couple of small clouds coupling - clear blue skys and the Glasshouses Mountains clearly visible... and I have been speaking with the lease holder of Garua Island a 1500 acre coconut and cocoa estate in semi neglected condition...

Same weather here today mass. Blue sky and a few scattered clouds. Wind keeping temps down to a nice 34 at the moment, but its early yet, 1030 am.

I can see Gunrung Raya the big volcano like mountain in the middle of the island,-- clear as a bell.

But I have not been speaking to any one with a coco nut farm,---well not yet.

Heading back to Thailand Wed, food, booze, bars, massive shopping centers, caviar, ye ha, and I got 15 liters of wine going with me.

Bad news--- well not much rhoids are gone and I have some epoxy that did not set properly --thats about it.

Looks like great diving in the area.

When the weather is fine it must be lovely . Where the boat goes in a storm is not known.

He will be in a pot with carrots and onions in a month.

hoytedow Fly on the Wall - Miss ddt yet?

Tropical Storm Debby seems to have stalled in the northern Gulf of Mexico. We have sustained winds of 24 MPH. It has been raining for days here and will probably do so at least through Tuesday. Tornadoes have set down in multiple locations and a tornado watch is still in effect from South Central Florida to Jacksonville. Seas in Tampa Bay are currently 6 feet and Bayshore Boulevard is closed due to high seas. First high tide today will be at 715 AM, about 75 minutes from now. The Sunshine Sky-way Bridge is closed due to high winds.

I am trying on my boat for the first time this year.
I jumped in after several years of high success rates on clients boats and the test boats used at the yard.
Test boats have gotten as far along as three seasons on a application so looking quite good.

-Application technique has to be good or the expensive goo will fly off the prop.
-If the prop gets a chip from striking debris or what have you, the whole mess may fly off the prop on that blade.
-If the boat sits without use, you still may get fouling.

I will chat up the guy who does most of the applications and get his take on it- he had list of points on failures and what caused them.

I will know later (on how "prop-speed" performs), as I take delivery on Thursday... the finish feels relatively 'greasy'...

I will remain on the hard at Monteys for a while yet, - - More work to be done on the boat and weather is still not condusive to cruising YET... Why flogg ones *** in stormy weather and headwinds? - - Besides I have some more things I wish to change/fix/adjust/check etc......

I chatted up the guy- he only added that galvanic corrosion can break the bond of the finish to the running gear, and that application is very important to durability. If you miss the short over-coat window on the etching primer, the finish will fail. (peel off...)
Also, if the propspeed gets nicked the water pressure might/will lift the finish off the nicked prop blade. He says that barnacles will grow if the boat sits. If small, they can be just brushed off with a cloth or gloved hand. If they get big, removing them may well nick the finish & all bets are off.

We tossed it on a 36' sedan cruiser with two props to see how it would do. We were getting several seasons of use so the product was looking pretty good. Many clients are using it now and getting good results as well.
