I still can't see the point. You head off to the islands where there are no services and therefore nobody has any need of money be it fiat or gold, fine.

Except there are no services and with no money you can't get anything once you run out of trade goods, and all the land is owned under customary title so any sort of shore base is problematic unless you've lots of contacts, skills etc. With no effective rig, once you run out of diesel you're not going anywhere.

Not like Australia is a bad place to be, after all.

Doom and gloom sayers are being criticized for spreading unecessary doom and gloom.

Fabricating doom and gloom is the reason there is doom and gloom.

The world was at war 60 years ago, some people dont even know that. Its just history now as this crisis will be.

If you want to make it worse all you got to do is say it is.

    Mas needs a mast.

Imperative --no brainer---lack of finance is neither reason or excuse.

I want to buy a dog but I have no money to feed it

Q Do I still get the dog?

All have 20 : 20 vision after the fact... To partially misquote "Aunty Jack", - - 'Well my little lovelies, You will have to wait and see,' (and the out of context part - I cannot remember how it fitted, was) - - 'or ill rip yore bloody arms off' - for a while it was a "cult TV show" for little kiddies and those young at heart and missing the silliness of that radio show called the "Goon Show" from BBC...

I am heading North because I like the climate... I luckily do not have 'Rhoids, distemper, prostate or other issues . . . to pre-emptively satisfy any pseudo concerns as to my health...
    - - I like adventure...
    - - There are parts of Melanesia I have not visited and explored and still are in my "to-do-bucket-list"...
    - - I speak the local language...
    - - I am used to remote living...
    - - I started working overseas in cross-cultural environments in 1964...
    - - I possess diverse skills relevant to most activities that may be of personal interest or challenge...
And unlike most, I do not need a nanny to wipe my bottom after toilet... Also, I hope to accumulate some money to buy or build a mast, rigging and sails, - or, - make some coconut oil so I can feed my engines and move around under power...

"Our Species' Biggest Risk is Our Lack of Coherent Long-Term Decision Making" http://www.chrismartenson.com/blog/...title_75988&utm_campaign=weekly_newsletter_73 - - - - is of more than of little relevance in this thread topic - Do ignore the advertisements and promotions in that context... All the relevant information is available and very few are thinking and planning sensibly?

Buy guns, Buy ammo, Buy tinned food = die within a year or two if such calamity transpires - (like a global financial system collapse, or weather events like drought and followed by a couple of severe storms, that wipes out crops for a year or two in America, Russia, Europe and Australia)....

Gold is money that does not depreciate or get devalued, - - (even though it is severely manipulated via the PAPER - ETF - market on COMEX), - - and made far more for investors, by doing nothing - even to not paying any interest, than any other ASSET investment class over the past year, 5 Years, 10 years & even since 1971, - it has outperformed most other hedging options, for those who bought the actual metal and took delivery and still hold it... Consider THAT...

Why does the computer shift the position of the keys as I type? So many errors to correct...

Gooday bloke. Last question - first answer - it's cause our fingers are getting sloppy & older/faster than we are & it's not fair at all. Your computer is related to mine - cause it does exactly the same thing.

Do remember to PM us if your heading near us - we're inland from Cairns & you're always - welcome as the flowers in spring. Give us a 'hoy' & we'll come & pick you up & dinner's on the table / wine's in the cooler / & friendly conversations's the go. Spare couple of private rooms - upstairs - so like the saying goes. do-drop-in. Ciao, james

Hoyt I am confident deep down that you honestly think you know what you are talking about.

Your quest for shorter and shorter comments leave them void of content and meaning.

(Ther world is at war today or havent you noticed ) If any one could explain that your a cleverer man than I am.
