Airboats were invented for environments where water props DON'T WORK, so efficiency comparisons become irrelevant.

I knew a guy in Sebring who flew an auto-gyro. He lived but lost some fingers in the crash. It was very nearly a Decapitator. He couldn't hold up enough fingers to indicate how many years he flew the thing. It was an Amputator.

 

thats why the irish air force removed the ejection seats from their helicopters.

 

Could make a potato slicer with it or maybe a bottle opener.

I didn't know it at the time but a boat like that requires a flag on a 10' mast.
