I know goodwillforall thinks that the oceans were made on Tuesday, and that after the Flood the water ran off the edges of the flat earth. That's OK

But please don't take the boat you're building to sea

From a factual perspective (and ignoring the absurdities of the tale) the Ark as a construct is not structurally sound without making it a composite metal wood construction with a substantial amount of metal.

If it's all wood then God designs a structure that is woefully inadequate, and Noah could not have survived in such a vessel. Then either God's no barge designer, or more likely as historians tell us, it's a wonderful fictional moral tale written by priests in Ancient Babylonia.

Such a shame not to accept the wonders of the products of deep time. Religion has a place but it's not in boat design any more than in treating infectious disease.

Agreed. If you are going to use what's in the bible to design a boat it would better to use one of the fishermen's boats from the Sea of Galilee as a basis

Bataan, I'm with you. I too was a coast guardsman. Any one who does not understand, acknowledge, and appreciate what the coasties do, and why they do it, is not a boatman but a dimwit.

    Semper Paratus.

When the goodwill guy, if he is really lucky, ends up being saved by a USCG rescue team, he will need to thank the USCG personell who risked their lives to save his dumb ***, not jesus.

All others, please excuse the outburst.

Its a shame that modern SAR boats are high powered. All fuel and huge engines. After their service life they cant be converted to Chug Chug cruisers.
The Small German working craft of the river Elbe are also very nice Long thin tugs and service craft

The beautiful horse launched Ameland lifeboats, with thier tunnel drive, still live on

Look up "Lifeboat Carlot of Terschelling" for a description.

This is de zeemanpost during trials? If you goto link Dorus Rijkers from previous Carlot link, you will find many pictures of the Dutch lifeboats but everything is also written in Dutch. Really like the tunnel drive Ameland lifeboats.
