advantages of forward wheelhouse longliners

    can you explain me what are the advantages of forward wheelhouse longliners over after wheelhouse longliners. the length of the propeller shaft can be increased. so it may cause repair problems, heating of fish holds etc.. so why this type of vessels(forward wheelhouse) are using in more countries.are they suitable for asian countries. thank you

    I don't know this speciific type, but in Norway I think small fishing vessels with forward wheelhouse is popular because the working deck area get some shelter from the house.

    Raggi Thor has it spot on. Forward cuddies provide much needed shelter for the line crew when working in choppy seas with blustery winds. (The wind chill factor can rapidly lead to lethargy - and tangled lines, which means the hands are more accident prone.) :(
