Thank you so much.you must be the experienced boat designer. In china, you will be called "DA XIA",it means you are powerful, strong and warm-hearted.I am a young Chinese boat designer, but my major is industril design, not about boat.In China, there is no college education about boat/yacht design now.The "boat design.net" is a place for the young man like me.

If you mean it serious, you may find a job overseas where you can get more practical insight?
To be a DaXia it requires more than sweet talking and scratching people's backs, and sometimes hard but candid criticism will motivate and improve much better (and faster).
Let me tell you that my first own designs were crap, and I am glad today that people told me :)

Looks like a number of luxury car companies are rushing to create their own brand of stylish powerboats, all having one thing in common - a complete disregard of rationality and common seamanship wisdom. The form is everything, the seaworthiness is an optional.

Mercedes-benz project, presented at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show: http://www.gizmag.com/mercedes-benz-silver-arrow-yacht/24221/

    Lancia powerboat: http://www.carbodydesign.com/archive/2009/09/09-lancia-powerboat/

However, there is one I do like, though it will require several modifications to make it crew-friendly and less power-demanding. This one: http://www.yacht-trend.com/lamborghini-poweryacht-by-mauro-lecchi/#more-148
Designing the molds for that one will be a true challenge. :D

When I look t these designs I wonder if the designers have ever been on a boat.

The most important TOY on the Modern Sport Cruiser is the Jet Ski. Every boat has two jets skis, but they are always added on as an afterthought and are always a pain in the *** to launch, retrive

I would expect designers to attack this problem with some kinda WOW !!! design that allows the Yacht to effortlessly deploy and retrieve jetskis.

Who knows... aft torpedo tubes or side launch or something unique.

    Form and function....design

I agree that the design as presented may not be of any real use or ever made but so what it is just a design exercise.

What I take notice of is the obvious outstanding CAD and graphics talent Benyachts presents. Benyachts you can make some money with skills like that. Find some other experienced individual to design the boat and mentor you, in exchange you bring your graphics skills and your employer can dazzle the clients and sell boats. In return you will learn more about boat deign.

    Good luck.

No anchoring or deck safety either.

These things run on water - not the road !

my point was that there are similar designs already built and out there.

earlier comments suggested such designs would never be built.

i made no mention of the practicalities of such a design.

Man, I never even got an acknowledgement from the polite Chinese guy, and I was on his side. Bummer!

I like the looks of it, and it's no more impracticable than most go-fast boats.

But as a technical question, wouldn't a plumb bow like that be a danger in a hi speed boat? Wouldn't it come off a wave and whichever way it dug in, that's the way the boat's going to go, no matter what the driver wants?
