Probably, Brent has always been supportive of people realizing their dream, even though no one was there to lend them that 100k. It's looking pretty bad *** so far, keep it up.

    Great project!

Seriously listen to what others say...sandblast every square cm of this thing....hardcore.
In fact..blast for a couple hours, then paint it. Never leave bare metal open, especially 10' from damp salty air.

I knew a guy, despite my warnings figured it would be cool to just wirewheel his rusty and cheap steel sail boat. Spent all kinds of money on paint...and 6 months later had to haul it out ($$$$) and blast and repaint ($$$$) it with the rust stains all over.

Saw a sandblaster on craigslist for $50 last month.

    Jobs I detest (in order):

    1. sand blasting.

    2. spray painting

    3. angle grinding

    4. anything to do with plasterboard (non boat related one....)

I paid for all my steel to be blasted & primed before I started building, only had to blast small stuff myself. It was expensive to farm it out and I'd do it again in an instant.

SheetWise All Beach -- No Water.

    Interesting thread.

You say it was built for a still, but you're going to build a greenhouse?

Seems this hull was born with a destiny.

the guy who built it said he was planning on putting in a scremin jimmy engine. use the exhust to bild the still and make booze run it to the city and be desguised as a sailboat.

i like the idea of a still. could be used for making booze or making fresh water. pretty interesting.
