1985 Bayliner 1985 Force 85hp

    hi i just got a 1985 Bayliner Capri Bowrider
    with 85 HP its going to be a fixer upper my main concern at the time is the outboar motor the boat has no ignition switch it has all the wires can some one please tell me what kind of ignition switch i need to get it has 6 wires ,interior has seen better days as the hole floor needs to be replaced

    It shows which color wire gets connected to which terminal in the ignition switch.

    i don't have a ignition switch yet trying to figure out witch one it takes will all ignition switch have a number on the screws like on the diagram thanks for the help in advance

    You need to check if it is a 5 or 6 pole switch (same number of wires)

    The original switch would be an "off" "run" "start" with a push choke. The key gets pressed in to activate the choke on the carbs. likely this one :Sierra International MP41000 Push To Choke Marine Ignition Switch http://www.amazon.com/Sierra-International-MP41000-Marine-Ignition/dp/B00144D77E

    This particular one is a 5 wire... keep in mind that there may be multiple wires on the hot side for the run position.

    Does it crank? is there spark, fuel etc? What have you done so far?
