Congratulations Manie. Thanks for posting the new photos. Looking good!
Dreaming and enjoying every step is good too. But there will be plenty of time for sitting in the boat on the water, so full steam ahead now :) Nice work.

Thanks for the updated pics. I love the blog too. I'm building a cat, but it's great to see how you and others have gone about things.

    Cape of Storms

Just a reminder of easily things go belly-up around our coast. The pics are of a ship on its way to a scrap yard in India approx 30 deg South. She ran aground about a week ago and efforts to refloat arent working yet.
The crew simply did not know what to expect when they were in these waters.
Sailing in and out of Durban will most definately teach you a thing or two about the ocean :D
crazy **** is the next day it's like glass
    wtf happened yesterday

Well it looks like the sanding outside of the hull is OK?
You will NEVER be sure if you did enough but I suppose that is what filler is for after the hull has been glassed.
All ready for glassing now and I have arranged for 2 guys to come in next weekend to help.

Updated the blog with lots of pics of the centerboard casing

    Outside glassed !!

Well its done, glassing the hull is a 3 man job, they were rolling and I was constantly mixing epoxy and doing the odd jobs. Very tired very rewarding.

and now the fun starts. ;)
Manie, give me a call sometime and I will share with you some thoughts for fairing to come - have mix that sands so easily and is as hard as glass and another trick for final finishing before paint.
You had seen the result on the Portugese dinghy:cool:

    Antifoul

    The bum is black

jeez this sanding nonsence is crazy

ok folks this is what I decided
first and foremost I am building a strong working boat (I hope:p)
this is not intended to be a show stopper
this boat will not win prizes at the wooden boat competitions for that shiny "french polished" seven layers of laquer finish that's like glass

:p I want to go and save Sven in the doldrums :p

I want a 12v watermaker so I cant overload the boat with body putty and/or filler and/or useless weight

the sea is calling to me :D
I have been sniffing this paint all afternoon and drinking beer
    It's friday :D
