You can make the area under a storage space with a 6" round deckplate.

And it all gets glassed, right John?
Going to be tricky getting in through the access port to fillet and tape in the "lid" (tread).
    Fantastic!

Hi BlueBell - I just posted on DC's newer thread that I now have a project presentation on the web at: BoatDesignConcepts.com
On the right margin of their home page is a small pic of my 18' runabout flying over a 1' chop....that's the link to the presentation which includes two videos.

TC has a lot of rules for vessels used as a water taxi. Stability tests. Maximum watertight compartment sizes. I don't believe they care if you use fir or pine for strip planking.

That should be correct. But it's always some pissant bureaucrat clerk who actually stamps a form, or puts it in a drawer and never again pulls it out.

It's not wood, it's composite. Epoxy-glass to be precise.

    Hi.
    Thanks.
Those are the same videos as before, right?
Why didn't you go with a flat transom base versus the inverted V in the hull/transom?

So, what's the plan for the long weekend Big John?
You gotta date with some more epoxy/clothing?
    Stair construction?
    Motor installation and sea-trialing?
I don't really care what you're up to so long as there's pictures.
    Good pictures, video... good video.
I'm easy, so long as it's good.
    Cheers!

    BB

I'll be installing the stair stringers, and interior glassing in general. Since my last update I put in a bunch more wooden fillets, and a glassed a few areas, but it does look like anything much in pictures.

Today. Glassed the hull on the inside of the tunnel, 2 layers. As I expected, doing the hull under me in those steep corners, between the ram and bulkhead #1 was very difficult. Between #1, and #2 wasn't 20210403_195414.jpg 20210403_195404.jpg 20210403_195341.jpg 20210403_195328.jpg 20210403_195319.jpg 20210403_195300.jpg too bad. I could kneel aft of that, and reach over the bulkhead.

    Egg-solent!
    Nice progress John.

    No unclothed ply, right?
    Eventually.
That includes end grain, tricky with the small radius though...

20210404_154523.jpg Good perspective of the forward area. The sides of the stairs was today's adventure.
