Not blaming anyone for anything !!! Only pointing out that inequalities in the world create insecurity. Rich countries, particularly the US need to pay close attention because soon...like really soon....these inequalities and the race to secure natural resources, witness Mrs Clinton's recent plea with the Chinese concerning Rare Earth exports, will dominate policy making.
Policy and security are intertwined. In the good ole days the US could sit back, ignore smoldering flames, them rush to snuff it out with a huge ,aircraft carrier mounted, fire hose. Not anymore..time for good ,non polarized RepublicanDemocrat, policy

A very simplistic and unrealistic appraisal of American foreign policy, in my opinion.

Once upon a time, England was the greatest power in the world; it dominated a large part of the globe. So let me ask you this:

Do you really think it was because England was too strong to be stopped? Or was it because the countries England conquered or dominated had such corrupt, inept governments, lack of education and weak economies that one tiny island nation was able to exploit them?

    Of course.
And if not, then it's Israel's fault
And if not, then it's Russia's fault
And if not, then it's China's fault
    ...
And if not, then it's Zimbabwe's fault.

And if it's not any of you guys, then Australia will take the fall.

Look closer. We are not so rich anymore. The big Zero has with the help of his predecessors emptied our coffers and left us all in debt up to our eyeballs. Many of us are barely eking by.

So, you would just nuke them. Wouldn’t your (Christian) conscience be a bit bothered by indiscriminate mass killing ? Would you consider such an act a good demonstration of superior Christian ethic that you are so proud of?

Nuking would certainly clearly show to everyone, once end for all how splendid our civilization is, in its pursuit of freedom, democracy and human rights.

Well, we can wringle with all kinds of creative Orwelian speak, we might even get away with it for our domestic consumption. Those on the receiving end of our “defense” are much more interested in our actions then our terminology.

Yes. He was extremely unpopular in the EU.

No problem. Just don't knock our towers down and there will be nothing to fear. We are a peaceful people who hate war, but we will not lay down and let you roll over us. Next time Europe catches on fire we may just stay home.

i belive not, since NATO icorporates many european countries. an alliance is a mutual agreement. of course you can betray the alliance, but that is usually not preferable.
