Just thought id share a recent balls up with you.
We had a hole in our transom due to a collision with a submerged car, so we lifted the boat and today grinded it all back made the hole ready to repair, filled with ply wood and resin. Little did I know that the local resin ( im in Nigeria) is not pre accelerated. And we only have two days in the dry dock, so now we begging for more time to lay up before we can continue with the repair. Oh well live and learn!

Best is to take it off, and redo the repair. It might even be the fastest solution.

    And yes, that sucks.

zerogara build it and sail it

I think the reason they do this is because in high temp environments resin lasts longer that way, otherwise it tends to turn to molasses.
Every time you get a new batch of chemicals it is best to use a small quanity for a test. I once had bad catalyst sold to me and it took a while to figure it out till I used some of my old left over catalyst.
