origamiboats: Swain 36 interior
This is an inside shot of a Swain 36 before painting. The green colour is the zinc-rich epoxy primer that the steel comes with in Canada. This avoids the need for sandblasting before painting and foaming. Note the twin keels and midships transverse webs notched and welded into the projecting tops of the keels. The keel web represents the only tranverse "framing" in this otherwise frameless steel boat. There are many longitudinally oriented strips of angle iron, which stiffen the hull skin considerably.
