Doug Lord: MPX Test Model----- Main + Wing Mast

Compare the rig height with the doorway next to it to get some idea of size! Sail has no wind filling it but the gaff halyard is tightened up. When the wind hit the sail it had an excellent shape and the combination of main and wing mast was astoundingly powerful-hard to hold on to. The noggle(see thread) works well to control mast rotation with respect to the boom. Many adjustments with this sail-particularly the upper outhaul on the gaff. The gaff is supported by the "Gaff Control Device" a movable piece that will be used to experiment with automatic "halyard adjustment".
