    Mini floating dock/bedroom

Only winds over 10 mph would be a concern. I'm water and heat proof, to a good degree

    Is that Venice, Alabama?

I wouldn't be able to fit a hamster wheel on the rooftop. There are bridges on the way...

I would have taken your work for it, you didn't have to put it on a scale and provide photo evidence lol :) The blades on your paddle look great, I'll almost certainly steal that idea, excluding the epoxy. Thanks a lot

Yes it definitely would. The possibilities are not endless but many.

Indeed. I will be looking into reducing the 8kg this one weights, but I won't be looking into buying anything ready made. I'll get a shaft as thin as possible so it won't break, and may increase or decrease the surface of the blades. Not sure yet.

I'm already in the business :) I may use that suggested setup for longer distances, but my aim is to paddle it as much as possible.

    Plastic Drums waterproofing

Well, sorry for wasting everyone's time! The seller has finally replied to me, one month on, and told me the red covers have threaded caps underneath, and I have just confirmed it. It's crazy how I got the reply the morning after I posted the question here, but there you go, the aquatic life is...

Great, thanks a lot. Initially I tried to upload via the "albums" thing and that didn't work. Or I didn't work.

Tragically, I am not anywhere near Florida. I'm in Britain, where not many people use these, and buying second hand is not cost-effective. I bought these new for the equivalent of just over $40 each.

Parallel to the platform, like a very poor man's catamaran type of thing.

    Plastic Drums waterproofing

That's an interesting reply, as it also provides information I did should have researched but didn't :) Thanks a lot for that. My payload I don't know exactly, but expect it to be not over 400 kg, and that's if I get a fat lady to visit ;) But seriously, I think the platform and cover (like a...

    Plastic Drums waterproofing

Well, probably not, and I will be counting on that. Not many waves on the Thames or London canal system in London, but eventually I would like to cross the Channel and take it to the Danube (dreams...) and for that the said holes may get a lot of splashing onto them. I may have the threaded one...

    Plastic Drums waterproofing

Thanks fall guy. I don't know about glassing and would not like this to be my first try :( but if that is the best option I will have a go. I have four extra barrels, so I can practise on them.

    Plastic Drums waterproofing

Hi I'm in the process of building a 3x2M (10x6ft) boat on 6 220L containers. These containers have two holes, one has a threaded cap which should be completely watertight if tightened well using PTFE tape, but the other seems to have like a peel off type of cover. I'm wondering on the best way...
