I've always had problems with the trim stops and indicator wiring failing and this year I've had the wiring actually dis-integrate in my hands...and this is in a freshwater environment! It looks like electrolysis corrosion alright and I also think all the wiring in the boat is deteriorating...

I don't like the idea of drilling holes below the waterline on fiberglass boats to mount transducers, trim tabs, swim platforms, etc. Some boaters I know have had to have their entire transoms rebuilt because of water seepage. What's the right way to mount things below the waterline? Cheers...
