I will need to find a new replacement parts as all has been flooded and some parts are lost in the mud like push rods, valves, other engine components will need to be replaced, starter, oil pump, crank shaft regrinded etc.... looking for some way to see if it makes sense to continue this project...

It is GM as the piston ref numbers are the same as GM automotive numbers.... and the information seems to match mostly to GM

Hi all, projects go slow way to slow...and in between **** hapens... I was in the process of rebuilding my my mid 70's - 165 Mercruiser this until last month my basement got flooded with water and mud ... so all engine, carb, electrical, hydraulic parts, drive etc are mosly lost... finding a 165...

Hi RX, unless I got mistaken or some printed specs are not ok I read ±0,0005" which is 0.0127... that corresponds to the red and green line on my graph... I ordered a 100mm caliber for my micrometer and check again...

Its new i set it to 99mm with a micro meter and put the dial 0

An analog bore gauge 0,01mm readings....

need some feedback.... rebuilding an 165hp mercruiser 250CID 6 in line. the specs tell bore size 3.875 (98.425mm) when i measure the bore it gets me 98.35 - 98.40mm measured with a bore gauge... measured it different ways and always get the same... being an mid 70s engine, don't know the usage...

Yeah I imagine always the same story no automotive on a marine application... here in europe is just 5x the price of automotive... i must sau that the actual is quite rusty after probably as it is ad mid ‘70s engine and has a cast iron impeller
