I am at the point of painting my cypress dory,and would like some help in slecting a good paint...and should I seal it with epoxy beforw painting?

Thanks Par,I talked to the folks at Fiberglass supply,and they suggested using awl grip saturated (thinned ) on the first coat,then paint it in...
I.m thinking about saturation of the cypress lapstrake,to counter rot...whats your take?
