if you dont like ply build it out of 4mm alloy sean
thats actually really funny cause i know of a lot of 40ft cats that go offshore that are all built from 9mm ply and a lot of them are still...
In other words, you cannot sensibly build a "sailing"multihull in aluminium unless it is over 40ft long sean

depends on the weight i would think although a carbon 20' stands a good chance of being a light boat sean

i should mention it cruises at 18 knots goes flat out at 23knots and burns 10l an hour at 18knots sean
go for a displaning type hull that way you get speed and economy/low power something like this but scaled down to 5m probably wouldnt need more...

is altex number one an etch primer? as ive heard that aluminium is quite hard to paint due to the aluminium oxide sean
ive got a second hand boom that ive tigged all the holes up on im just wondering what the best process would be to fair it back up for respraying?...
