I am currently getting prices on ply for a planing boat (flats power boat) the boat will be 20' with a finished weight of 420 lbs. it's max HP is rate for a 50 it is also has a pocket drive hull. I found 2 good sources locally for Marine Fir and wanted some input on using this material versus meranti 1088 or 6566. It will be built basic stitch and glue with 2 layers of 12 oz. on the bottom pannel and one layer of 12 oz. inside.

Just wonder if the 9mm marine fir would be a good choice, any sugestion and/or comments would be appreciated.....

Marine grades will all have similar standards, though Douglas fur has finishing issues, but this isn't a problem if you intend to sheath her with 'glass. Considering the heavy 'glass sheathing you've suggested, 9 mm will be fine. Go for it . . .
