Have a 17' Skiff in the shop for some bottom work. This is a "well" boat designed for netting. The customer says the boat rides bow high and is difficult to get on plane. He's adding a larger motor but also wants to build some lift into the bottom. Because of the well there is only about 2' of hull in contact with the water on each side at the stern. I was thinking of adding 1/2" x 6" wedge in the stern on each side. Is that enough to make a difference? This is not a high speed boat.
