I have seen it mentioned and discussed whereby trimarans are demountable by having the crossbeams plug in to tapered sockets in the main hull, square or hexagonal or similar.
But has anyone seen this done ?
    Would they work loose ?
How much "bury" in the main hull would they need ?

    Corley epoxy coated

The searail 19 trimaran has a plug and socket kind of arrangement. You can see it in this photo. On a larger scale the PT-11 trimaran uses the same sort of system. You can see some pictures of it in their build blog.
