Will saran wrap hold back 2 part polyurethane foam expansion in a tube with many1.5 inch drill holes

I built some Dierking inspired amas using pink foam. What you’ve built deserves a dump run. Lose the hubris and build something light.

hahaha i think that's what it is for sure, mainly my fault for always thinking i could use pvc pipe, but yes definitely going to build the Dierking pontoons without a doubt!

I used pvc tubing for the risers on my amas. Fitted together 1.5/1.25 etc. and have two settings loaded and fishing..

interesting, always looking for ways to use pvc as it seems pretty flexible, durable and affordable, looks like you've got some pretty good projects going on there!

The buoyancy of the tri in the photo is several times what your pipe will have.

Gert rid of the pvc, shape some XPS foam, wrap it with the saran wrap, and glass it.

The pvc is a complete waist of time and money. And makes it heavier with no added benefits.

Two thin pipes will not give the contraption enough initial stability to make the side decks fit for more use than holding some beer cans. The canoe will capsize if a person sits on them. It will be a more productive use of your time to learn how to sail a canoe. People have done lengthy cruises open water in sailing canoes.

Not as amas, or akas, but the riser section embedded in the ama. They work great and I use a hitch pin or linch pin to adjust the positions. They need to be rough sanded with 40 grit and well embedded in the ama.
