IBEX and SNAME are presenting a day long course on modern stability standards for sailing yachts at the next IBEX in Louisville on September 14 (the day before the exhibition opens). The course will cover background material in stability, ISO 12217-2, its second tier references and the new MCA LY3 sailing yacht stability code.

The instructor will be Ian McCurdy, noted yacht designer of McCurdy and Rhodes and lecturer in naval architecture at SUNY Maritime. Mr. McCurdy has a B.S. in civil engineering and a B.S. and an M.S. in naval architecture from U. Michigan.
