    It could be the "froth/foam" from a severe gale? as the islands appear to be quite iced up...

    Still confused and incredulous, would love to see a clear image and explanation... I thought of underwater obstructions, but being non fair and not symmetrical, I would have thought far greater variability in wake - even for cloud of low level fogs??? - still cannot satisfy my "in a rut" mind...
