hoytedow Fly on the Wall - Miss ddt yet?

Yes, indeed, it is St. George Island, but the SG is just a coincidence. My boat registration number ends in PJ but signifies nothing.

I'm not sure the Hopper painting is actually the Indian Island light - just rather similar... possibly inspired by it?

    Oops.
I put them on the wrong thread. Everglades challenge is coming up March 1, Mullet Key, Florida.

Wait! There is no seawall in the painting. Also see this prose from the link above: "Here's a quintessential Edward Hopper oil of Cape Cod, The Long Leg. It's a combination of influences. There is some of the lighthouse at the extreme tip of Cape Cod in Provincetown (the next town over from Truro, where Hopper had his studio). And there's a lot taken from Hopper's walking his beach along Cape Cod Bay and studying the structure of the sand dunes, tides, and the Cape light." The light in the Hopper painting is not the same one posted by Angel in #5779.

That's what Tiny also found out, see post #5786.

From Wiki about the artistic licence . . .
Edward Hopper, Methods ‘‘ Although a realist painter, Hopper’s “soft” realism simplified shapes and details. ’’
