About the right latitude (+-10 deg.), not Greece. :)

Prince Henry the Navigator statue, at the entrance to Santa Catarina Park, Funchal, Madeira.

I've seen it, and the good thing is this one doesn't show up in a Google Image Search, at least for me it doesn't, so I won't post any new images which could spoil it... Just as an hint and to confirm your findings, it's HN here in FM...

    Good luck..!!

Thanks Angel. Googling what's in the picture (sailor statue 1419 1420) gave Henry the Navigator. As you say, Angel, no google images there, but the registration plate on the taxi and the part of the sign on the building looked like it was likely to be Portugese. A google web (not image) search for 'Henry Navigator statue' brought a reference to Santa Catarina park up on the first page, and the photo looked like the entrance to a park, so I clicked through and there it was...

That was quick. Prince Henry it is.
He was not actually a sailor or explorer himself, but was the power behind the great Portugese voyages of discovery.

It was the cab and the surroundings who made me think of Funchal in the first place, then Henry popped back into my mind....
