Third place may be linked to the lake or the mountain at the church

All three buildings are exported from Norway?

I found the church, but I'll keep it a secret just a bit longer.

Well the Hofdi House was exported from Norway I read on several places and since you know the church, ‘‘exported’’ means that it's not in Norway.... and also not in Iceland as Raggi says....

    Maybe a clue or a pic for your buddies . . ? ?

    Thanks in advance :D

As for the third building, I have no idea.

The third place could be the one that's not by the sea and also the one that Raggi not has visited . . ? ?

Maybe Raggi meant the 100% replica of the Hofdi House in Japan. (Minaminasu town, Nasu District, Tochigi Prefecture... if the translation is right and if I understood it well)

    _replica_hofdi_house_in_minaminasu_japan_.jpg click = [IMG] = just a bit bigger :D

This is the largest pic I could find of it, it's from this Japanese link / Google translation (scroll down to bottom).

    Cheers,

I don't think the third is that japanese replica. Some Japanese fellow (millionaire) had it built because he had liked the original while visiting Iceland. But there is nothing linking the japanese version of Hofdi and the church on Antarctis. At least i cannot seem to find any.

edit: Unless the same japanese fellow has a replica of all three. :p

    Good clue, thanks :)

It gives the Island Church in Grytviken on South Georgia which was built by Norwegian whalers in 1913 and where Ernest Shackleton is buried. I think you're right in post #5612 that ‘‘exported from Norway’’ is what it has in common with the Hofdi House.

Also this could be the place that Raggi not has visited...

    Cheers,

    You are clever :)
    Reykjavik and Grytviken is correct.
And I haven't visited Grytviken yet.
I will sail their and go skiing once, I hope.

So the third place is the factory that these two buildings, Høfdi and Grytviken Church, have in common. They are both prefabricated on this factory that I have passed by train and car a few times without noticing.

No wonder my first thought of the church was Icelandic as the Norwegians did that a lot there, more than on South Georgia I think :D

That's why the church brought me to Iceland to find the house :)

Any pics of the factory or a link Raggi . . ? ?

I was wondering about that too... anyone who knows what it is... please tell...

Will make a new one tomorrow...

    Cheers,

I don't know what that metal entrance in front of the church is.
Here you see the factory that made the prefab buildings.

    OK, here's a new one . .

I know this place well but haven't been there for years. First pic is from 2½ years ago, second pic is from the late 1,600's. Where is it . . ? ?

    Hi all,

I'm sorry about this :( . . . I'm not able to post here for a while, so please carry on after it's found. If found it's easy to confirm by satelite vieuw and/or pics avalable trough Google Earth/Maps (I've checked, the right ones are there ;)).

I have some nice trivia about the four most prominent items which I will post later...

If not found, please carry on also. If that happens please someone post a new one in the spirit of this thread... In that case I will pick up this one later if I win one or if it gets stuck... But I'm sure you will find it . . :)

    Good Luck!
