OK, here is a new one......

    boat.jpg

    - Name of the yacht ?
    - Name of the water ?
    - Name of the port ?

Many clues in the picture, if more clues needed... they will come with more questions . . . ;)

    Good Luck..!!

    :) Well done EuroCanal . . ! ! Question #2 and #3 right answered . . . ! ! ! :)

As this is ‘‘Where is this?’’ that makes you the winner of this round . . :)

But before you put a new one up I suggest that we first hunt down the yacht as well, OK? Everybody is invited, incl. Teddy, as we already have a winner in this round.

    Aside...
EuroCanal, besides Rotterdam, did you knew that the boat was on the 'Nieuwe Maas' or did you have a lucky shot at the biggest body of water there?

These are the bodies of water in the Port of Rotterdam.....

This quests opening picture was taken from one of the harbours along the 'Nieuwe Maas' ('New Meuse' in E). Do you know near which harbour the boat is in the picture..?

In the middle ot that^ first picture you see a tower. Here that tower in a aerial and a view looking at the city from that tower.

    vieuw at tower.jpg - vieuw from tower.jpg - tower.jpg - tower base 2.jpg - tower top 2.jpg

These were clues which you didn't needed . . :)

This tower is over 11% higher than the Euromast, who wants to know more has to search for it . . ;)

    Cheers,

Judging by the width of the water and the speed of the boat, it looked like one of the larger canals upstream of the sea-port with a bit of stream. I thought about the Oude Maas, but I think there are no cranes along the banks there.

No idea about the ship, but it's strange that it has no flags, ensigns or whatever. I guess it is on a short journey to a repair yard. It's obviously not a canal boat, and not really suited to the North Sea either.

I had the impression of being in Rotterdam, when I saw the first picture. But the old general cargo cranes did not fit in my picture. And the tower I could not recall or put at Rotterdam. So, I was lost.
But I have seen the metal collecting containers last week in Holland at the yards I was negotiating my Passagemaker building. So, the country was clear.

The yacht though, appears to me as a old Cammenga Yachtbouw. Well capable to stand a summer at the North Sea. But (I am sure I know the boat), no clue again...........

Very good analysis of the information in the photo. The picture was taken from the Schiehaven looking south. The boat's location is 51° 54' 2.27" N, 4° 27' 2.46" E at the point of the green arrow, the red ‘‘A’’ dot is put in by Google as the nearest point accessable by public road.

The tower is the 'KPN-Zendmast' on the south side of the Waalhaven. It's a 207 meter high datacommunication tower. It's use includ's communication with ships at sea.

When moving the above linked Google Maps location map up (click hold and move up) you see the 'KPN-Zendmast' on the south side of the Waalhaven just north of the railway station on the crossing of the Anthony Fokkerweg x Soerweg. The tower is noticeable by its long shadow which runs NNW over the Anthony Fokkerweg. Which tells us that it was near midday when the Google Maps shot was taken.

Here you have a clue on the boat. When I posted this pic before something has fallen off along the way . . ;)

    I'll try again . . . front_view_plus.jpg . . . well here she is complete . . ;)

The yacht was Dutch built on the yard of Gerard who is a member of a famous family of yacht designers and builders which includes names such as Willem.

    Good Luck!

The son of the brother of the builder of 'our yacht' did a some designs for Cammenga Jachtbouw in ± the 70's. (maybe more decades, that I don't know)

    Here a 1978 example the_son_of_the_brother_of_the_builder_of_our_yacht_was_the_designer_of_this_1978_Cammenga_built_.jpg 187' 8'' / 57.2 m. - - And a 1973 example the_son_of_the_brother_of_the_builder_of_our_yacht_was_the_designer_of_this_1973_Cammenga_built_.jpg 85' / 26 m.

This 85 ft. from 1978 the_son_of_the_brother_of_the_builder_of_our_yacht_was_the_designer_of_this_1978_2_Cammenga_buil.jpg is for sale asking € 1,450,000.-- (EU tax not paid)

I'm sure you know this designers family name, his uncle Gerard's yard built 'our boat' in the mid 30's . .

    Good Luck!

So, we are talking about a de Vries Lentsch design. The big one I know well, from the days when she was "Midnight Saga".

No, read the above post well Richard, we're talking a Gerard de Vries Lentsch Jr. built. Who was the older brother of Willem de Vries Lentsch Sr. who was the father of de Willem de Vries Lentsch Jr. who designed the above three yachts. All three mentioned de Vries Lentsch's have won olympic sailing medals, far as I know, but I have to dig for that.

Someone else designed 'our yacht'. Look at the flag I posted for a clue about the boat.
