Constructed at the Meyer shipyard at Papenburg.
One gun from the Königsberg -we teased for it lately- was mounted on the Götzen.
Film was The Queen of Africa.

Unfortunately the article you linked does´nt give any insight in the whole story. A truly dramatic story, by all means. And I have not the time and passion to translate it.
There are serious plans to bring her back to Papenburg for her 100th anniversary!

The discrepancy is that the riverboat in question is the Klondike! There were actually many in service...I'll give you a secret to entering the Yukon River...Many cargo companies will not carry freight up that river because from the sea, the main channel looks like it takes too sharp of a turn for a 40 meter boat to enter. One actually has to go at ramming speed and plow right over some floating grass for about ten meters. It takes fortitude but that's how it's done!

 

Okay, I know I'm going to say something that really puts my ignorance on display... The bleachers are for beach volleyball? The limed structures look Mediterranean to me. The Big ferry in the distance looks like Greece to me. The flowers are azaleas?

 

The flowers are "Bougainvillea" Mark.

And thanks for the clarifying on the Yukon question!

 

Another clue: the people at the beach are most of them Germans

Late confirmation here: You're correct in assuming Bleik at Andøya. Just wanted to post some nice pictures from a nice country.... Well, the winter.... Ok, thats a period for that ones with a special interest.

The name "Bleik" is (probably) derived from the Norwegian word bleika/blega which means flat water.

Here it the report the pic was taken from, guess Raggi have seen... You can get free land there, if you wish to settle down there..

You could´nt give better hints, except showing the "welcome to.." sign at the town entrance.
But I made the last teaser and according to our new rules I´m out for this round. And (Teddy will not speak with me any longer) I built some of the RIU hotels, and others, a while ago.
