    Mike,
I read that many of the Cook islands are decreasing in their inhabitants, most of them emigrating to NZ (except Rarotonga), because they produce almost nothing sellable and turism is escarce and they cannot make a living on that. A pity.

    Perry,
Mmmm...let's see...that seems like a river or estuarine boating Club, in a tidal zone close to a mayor shipping channel.....mmmm....absolutely no idea! :(

    Cheers.

Auckland has the biggest Polynesian population in the world. In the Cooks you must be born on an island to an islander before you can own land. This simple policy has kept the rich westerners from changing the demographics.

I found Tom Neales grave 'An island of my own' and Irving Johnsons 'Yankee's' grave since her few remains are in the museum there.

    As for Perry
It looks like a yacht club, the shadows look short and are to the right of the boats so it is close to midday, suggesting the left is southward.

Perhaps some famous English yacht club ?

Wow, all those clubs, and over 70% claim royal patronage. Even if we ignore the handful of military clubs, that's an awful lot. Wonder if the royalty really has granted patronage to all of those? Even though you get to keep it in perpetuity once granted, it makes you wonder how the royalty found time for anything else. The tiny minory of non-royal clubs are probably too exclusive.

Yes, it is a good example of how the tentacles of Royalty reach down and bind the loyalty of the non-thinking.

Having a Blue Ensign on their boat is all about that British illness, Class Distinction.

At the direction of the Prime Minister, they also make Earls and Knights out of many rich people who help the Party in power with their election costs and also en-noble 2nd rate, unsavoury politicians who do the Government's dirty deeds for them.
