Where in the UK is the speed limit not 4 mph?

Looks a little void of water too!! perhaps piston broke might think now that cruising the canal at 40 MPh might not be possible.

As a kid I sat for hours at Copley canal, just down from Elland catching little perch. I was on my dads land opposite the path so the bailiff could do nothing. Up a bit from Sowerby bridge dock.

perhaps if some of you people could learn to read you would work out that I dont want to do 40 kts but the boats I have are not displacement hulls but need to be on the plane at about 20 kts..... A sensible question I posed about where I could use them ....seems nowhere but at sea .....

its probably better if you dont use the beautiful parts of the canals but
i think it woul be a very good idea if you & 1000,s of jetskiers used the industrial wasteland that is a lot of englands canal system, the cops cant nab you all
& it would force the apathetic authorities to clean & repair the crumbling state of junk, chinatown decay, trolleys, bikes etc
& if all the junkies & drunks which hang out like trolls under bridges in this wasteland saw you doing 30 knots it might give them something to live for
they might stop killing themselves
& join a waterski club,
if it stopped one more junkie or drunk dying
it would be worth it
you could alert the lazy local councils into rebuilding the canal infrastructure by only skiing where the canals are worst
it may force their hand
because of the press coverage
& everybody could have some fun
