Two problems I see with this straight away.

The battery could land up being incorporated in the device and no longer replaceable.

Batteries could take on any shape making it less likely a generic replacement is available later on, increasing the cost for the end user or decreasing service life because the batter is too expensive to replace.

I see the opportunity to have battery and solar panel integrated - I can carry 13 pv panels giving a rated 175 W each
    - I wonder how much they will hold in KWH with the paint batteries on the back?

    - - On one AGM bank I have 5500kwh more would be nice for high energy need days - - like the past 2 weeks  :D :D

Around 1975 I received samples of a spectacular new battery type developed by Matsushita. A metalized plastic foil envelope that could be made in any shape or size to fit small electronic devices like measuring devices, radios and the -not yet invented- cell phones.
No need for a battery compartment, just a slit to exchange the depleted battery with a fresh one that was only available through the sales network of the equipment manufacturer because there would be no standard sizes and shapes, so the profit potential was virtually unlimited.

Lucky for all of us, it was a complete commercial failure!
